Can my parents visit me in Canada — what visa do they need?

Visitor visa categories we handle

United States — B1/B2

B1 is for short business meetings; B2 is tourism, medical or family visit. Most Charotar applicants apply for B1/B2 combined.

Process: DS-160 form, MRV fee USD 185, OFC biometrics at Ahmedabad VAC, then in-person interview at Mumbai or Delhi consulate.

Officers want to see strong ties to India — property, family, business, salaried job — and a credible reason for the trip with return-date logic.

Usual file: DS-160, photo (5x5 cm white background), passport, ITRs (3 years), bank statements (6 months), property papers, employment letter or business proof, invitation letter from US relative with their I-797/green card or naturalisation certificate.

Schengen (Europe) and UK Standard Visitor

Schengen 90-day short-stay visa covers 27 European countries. File at the embassy/VFS of the main country of stay — most Charotar tourists file via France, Germany or Netherlands VFS in Ahmedabad or Mumbai.

Schengen documents: completed application form, travel medical insurance (€30,000 minimum cover), confirmed flight bookings, hotel reservations or invitation, financial proof (3-6 months bank, ITRs), employer NOC or business proof, cover letter.

UK Standard Visitor allows up to 6 months. Visa fee £127 for short visits. Online application via gov.uk, biometrics at VFS Ahmedabad. Decisions usually in 3-6 weeks.

For UK, we keep the financial story simple — last 6 months bank statements with a steady balance beat a sudden lump-sum deposit any day.

Canada TRV and Australia subclass 600

Canada TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) for tourism or family visit. Application fee CAD 100, biometrics CAD 85. Filed online via IRCC. Decisions typically 4-8 weeks for Indian passport holders, but it can run longer in peak season.

Super Visa option for parents and grandparents of Canadian PR or citizens — multi-entry up to 10 years, each stay up to 5 years. Needs medical exam and ₹1 crore-equivalent insurance from a Canadian insurer.

Australia subclass 600 (Visitor) — Tourist Stream is most common for family visit. Application fee starts at AUD 200. Lodge online via ImmiAccount. We have closed multi-entry 1-year and 3-year grants for Charotar parents.
